Why not just order them online?
It is a fair question, and if all you want is the cheapest possible card then an online printer will beat us on price. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
What you are paying a bit more for here is somebody checking your file before it prints, a proof you can query, and a phone that gets answered when the deadline moves. Most people who come to us have already had a batch turn up trimmed wrong, too thin, or three weeks late.
You can also come and look at the stock before you commit, which is worth more on business cards than on almost anything else we print.

How quickly can I get business cards printed in Watford?

What size is a standard UK business card?
The standard UK business card is 85mm by 55mm, which fits a wallet and a card holder without trimming. We also print square cards at 55mm by 55mm, and folded cards if you need more room. Custom sizes are fine too, just tell us early because it changes how the sheet is laid out.
How many business cards should I order?
Most small businesses order 500, which lasts around a year of normal handing out. Order 250 if your details might change soon or you are testing a design. Order 1,000 or more if you are at events regularly, because the price per card drops noticeably at that point.
Can you design my business card as well as print it?
Yes. Our in house studio will design a card from scratch, build one around a logo you already have, or tidy up a file a designer has sent you. You will see a proof before anything prints. Our design rates are pitched to be reasonable, so having it done properly usually costs less than people expect.
What file do you need from me?
A print ready PDF with 3mm bleed is ideal. We can also work from Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop or even a Word file if that is all you have. Send whatever you have got and we will tell you what needs changing. Our Knowledge Centre article on file types goes into more detail.
Can I have gold foil or spot UV on my cards?
Yes, both. Gold and silver foil press a metallic finish into the card and suit jewellers, weddings and premium brands. Spot UV puts a raised gloss over one element, usually a logo, so it catches the light against a matt background. Both add [CONFIRM] working days to the turnaround.
Do you print double sided business cards?
Yes, and it costs less than most people assume. The back of a card is useful space for a booking line, opening hours, a QR code or a next appointment box. If you are not sure what to put there, ask us and we will suggest something based on what your card needs to do.
What thickness of card do you use?
Our standard business card stock is [CONFIRM gsm], which is noticeably firmer than the thin cards supplied by budget online printers. Heavier options are available if you want something more substantial still. Pop in and hold a sample, because thickness is very hard to judge from a screen.
Can I collect my business cards from Watford?
